Meheba Friendly Libraries - April 2008

posted 05/29/08 16:33:01 by

Summary of project status and achievements:

Over the last month The Meheba Friendly Library and the 6 smaller libraries continued with inventory. The staff used the opportunity of school break to concentrate on organizing books and resources for the next term. Robert, the Library Manager, visited each library every week to ensure progress was going smoothly.

Books have been counted and filed in all libraries except Meheba Friendly Library as that will take a longer time due to the amount of books. The staff and Project Manager hope to record the amount and type of books in the upcoming month. The process of transferring books to different libraries will also happen in the upcoming month of May.

All furniture has been made and brought to the libraries. This has helped to bring more community members to the libraries.

English classes have begun at Block C. There is one class for beginners three times per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There are 8 participants, who are all male. Block F will be starting a storytelling program for young children in the next month. Block G is registering people for English class that is also scheduled to begin in May.

Overall, the libraries are all progressing very well. The staff and PM are now anxiously waiting for new books to arrive to complete the new libraries' openings.
