Site Manager Job Details
Site Managers spend six to twelve months in Meheba Refugee Settlement. In teams of two, they manage previously-implemented FORGE projects and collaborate with refugee Project Coordinators to prepare projects for financial sustainability. FORGE is looking to fill Site Manager positions with people who have a strong collaborative spirit and a willingness to work with people from all different backgrounds.
This position involves a short yet intensive training phase in the United States, followed by six to twelve months in Zambia. The Site Manager Contract may be renewed by FORGE and the staff member upon completion. The FORGE Site Manager will receive an ample $250 per month living stipend. Housing and transportation are covered.
Requirements:
Applicants for Site Manager positions must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and be of sound mental and physical health. Applicants with management experience who are detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-directed will be favored. Previous experience in the developing world is preferred but not required.

International Communications Manager Job Details

The selected individual will spend a year traveling between Zambian refugee camps, documenting and recording the lives of refugees and the activities of FORGE and will communicate frequently with FORGE staff in the US. FORGE is looking to fill this position with an individual who possesses a strong collaborative spirit and a willingness to work with people from all different backgrounds. The FORGE International Communications Manager will work side-by-side with FORGE Project Managers, the Camp Operations Coordinator, the refugee community, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR), and various partner agencies. This position involves a short yet intensive training phase in the US beginning in May or June of 2009, followed by a minimum of 12 months in Zambia. The International Communications Manager contract may be renewed by FORGE and the staff member upon completion. The FORGE International Communications Manager will receive a $250 per month living stipend. Housing and transportation are covered.
Requirements:

Applicants with natural people-skills who are detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-directed will be favored. FORGE is looking to fill this position with an individual who understands the intricacies of working with other cultures. Previous experience in the developing world is preferred but not required.

Volunteers
FORGE occasionally accepts a limited number of qualified volunteers to carry out specific projects in the refugee camps in which we work. These positions are meant to last between one and two months, and volunteers are required to contribute $2500 to offset the costs of FORGE's logistical support.
