Project Manager Job Details

Project Managers spend a full year in one of the three refugee camps in Zambia where FORGE works. In teams of three or four, they manage previously-implemented FORGE projects and under FORGE’s new programmatic model, work with the refugee communities to develop new projects. FORGE is looking to fill Project Manager positions with people who have a strong collaborative spirit and a willingness to work with people from all different backgrounds.

This position involves a short yet intensive training phase in the United States, followed by a minimum of 12 months in Zambia. The Project Manager Contract may be renewed by FORGE and the staff member upon completion. The FORGE Project Manager will receive an ample $250 per month living stipend. Housing and transportation are covered.

Location: Meheba Refugee Settlement, Mwange Refugee Camp, or Kala Refugee Camp, Zambia
Compensation: $250/month living stipend
Fundraising Requirement: Project Managers are required to raise a minimum of $5000 for FORGE to offset various travel and accommodations expenses and to help propel FORGE’s mission.

Requirements

Applicants for Project Manager positions must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and be of sound mental and physical health. Applicants with management experience who are detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-directed will be favored. Previous experience in the developing world is preferred but not required.

After applications are reviewed, selected interviews will be arranged. All applicants must be available to interview in Oakland, CA. No interview travel stipend is provided.
